Article – St Michael News: “Search for a Super Sales Girl”

Marks & Spencer. 1967. Search for a Super Sales Girl. St Michael News. February,  p. 1.

This article from Marks & Spencer’s staff newspaper launches its search for a ‘super sales girl’ in 1967. The feature reports how one large store in London launched its own competition for the title of ”Miss Good Service” to commend and celebrate the women who make up the majority of sales assistant roles. Although it does not state whether the incentives were rolled out across other stores, St Michael News reports that the winners will win an extra Saturday morning off work.
