Article – St Michael News: “Where Are Our Manageresses of the Future?”

St Michael News run an article in recognition of its women managers across its stores whilst it asks ‘Where are our manageresses of the future?’. An emphasis on careers for women was valued in the company, and staff were encouraged to ‘rise through the ranks’ as documented in the feature beneath. However, financial writers in the 1960’s feared that “old-fashioned ideas” about gender and their own capabilities were holding women back.
